i don't have libmysqlclient18 installed on the machine and I wasn't able to install it using apt-get so I created a symlink into /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libmysqlclient.so.18 -> /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libmysqlclient.so.20.3.12. Before making this change i got errors about not being able to log into mysql.

i have tried putting a limit on the select query, removing a column that contains HTML, still same issue

Resolved by actually installing the libmysqlclient18 from here https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/xenial/amd64/libmysqlclient18/5.6.25-0ubuntu1
