Sample Log Plots #2

Can matplotlib be used to implement something similar to our current sample log plots.

A bonus would be if the X axis can be set to timestamps.

The following is a plot of the dae_beam_current log from LARMOR0000063.nxs filtered by "status+period" in a 3.7x version of Mantid:
