What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Launch osm2garmin.exe
2.A windows osm2garmin appears with "Loading cached object"
3.Nothing happens

If I launch the .exe with the command line, i just have warning message about
ignoring option PermSize=64M and MaxPermSize=256m (support was removed in 8.0)

After many try, I have a BSOD....

I am using windows 7 64 bit, java jre and jdk 1.8.0_25

It looks like incompatibility with Java version 8. Can you, please, try to run
Osm2Garmin with Java version 7?

You can change Java version used by the program in c:\Program
Files\osm2garmin_1.2\etc\osm2garmin.conf.

Install Java 7 runtime and change the jdkhome parameter in the osm2garmin.conf
file as follows:

jdkhome="C:/Program Files/Java/jre7"

You must run your editor as Administrator to be able to edit osm2garmin.conf.

In the meantime, I was able to reproduce the problem.

According to https://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=229191 this problem
is caused by a bug/incompatibility in JVM 8. Switching to newer Netbeans
version (8) will be needed to fix it. In the meantime the only possible
workaround for Osm2Garmin is to run in on JVM 7.

Yes, should be.

I am currently working on update which should be able to run on JDK/JRE 8.
Hopefully it will be finished soon.

Thanks a lot.
The default torrents url (http://osm-torrent.torres.voyager.hr/files/) doesn't
work anymore, do you recommand a new one for osm2garmin?

If you download and install (from scratch) the latest Osm2Garmin version 1.2
build 270, it comes with new default torrents URL. This should point you to the
torrent of the latest Planet file.

This issue was updated by revision r271.

Updated libraries to work with Java 8.
Heap memory expanded to 4 Gb in 64-bit Java. This should avoid problems caused
by growth of the Planet file.
