Ruler sometimes jumps when scrolling #18

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a new project
2. Select ruler units [cm]
3. Change grid spacing units to [mm] or [cm] (example: cm)
4. Enter grid spacing other than whole unit (example: 0,5)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected the grid to be aligned with the ruler, but is it not.
The scale is different, so they are be aligned at some points, but are
misaligned at other.

(example: when 0,5cm grid spacing is chosen, every grid line should be aligned
with the ruler - but it's not)

*However, If the ruler units are in [cm] and grid spacing is set to 1 [cm],
then they appear to be in perfect alignment.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 3.0.5 beta on Windows7 professional 32bit

V3.0.5 beta on Ubuntu 10.10

This happens even without going through the steps outlined above. All I did was
to click "Toggle imperial/metric system" to set imperial. The misalignment
varies with the zoom.
It is important to me because I line row one of the board up with .1" and then
use the ruler to count the number of rows down to place a component.

3.0.8 Although the Stripboard is not creeping part units like it did before, it
is jumping about as compared with ruler.
-Create stripboard
-Put top left corner at 0,0
-Stretch to 2" x 2"
-Click on either slider arrow to move towards bottom right of screen.
-Stripboard now covers up to 3" in direction you moved.

Moving back returns it to 2"
The whole process can be repeated.

I'm not sure whether this is related, but the ruler has changed from 1/10" to
1/8" - which means it isn't possible to use the ruler to count rows/cols.

Comment 5

I've opened issue 114 to separate the ruler problem from the problem in issue
18.

The ruler bug seems to be back with 3.5.0a........ Zooming in a different times
will show different numbers, always off by one.
