Basic v10 Compatiblity fix - Proposal #226

Hi, I tried to fix the module for v10, so you have less work to do. Not sure if all functions work properly but maybe the code changes save some time for yourself during the update.

Ah there is already a working branch. Never mind. I'll leave this open, maybe it still helps.
