@yhahn can you give this a quick review since you wrote these tests originally?

This PR makes gazetteer incompatible with Mapbox Studio Classic.

I'll need to be sure to give this a full version bump before publishing to NPM. Doing this because I want to start playing around with a GL-powered gazetteer/inspector tool.
