AR Plugins - Which way to go ?

with reference to some closed tickets from the past:

Is it recommended to use the ar-foundation-port branch ? The other hand would be to put your horses on deprecated Plugins for ARKit/ARCore which are currently included in Mapbox. We are setting a up long-term project and therefore need a decision which way to go safely.

It would be great if you could provide some informations about the roadmap for AR in the near future or an advice how to handle the current situation.

@Markovicho admittedly we haven't had a chance to looked into AR for a while now and I'm not exactly sure when we will either. I would suggest going with the latest really (ArFoundation?), we need to upgrade to that at some point as well but I'm not sure when (if ever) we will be able to. Sorry :(
