Reading openmaptiles's vector tiles using mapnik-vector-tile #278

Hi, While I was investigating about vector tiles I found this site: https://openmaptiles.com/downloads/planet/ it provides vector tiles, generated from osm, I was wondering if it is possible to use those mbtile files and rendering maps, but I have some problems

Those tiles are saved as pbf formats, well, Can I read them as std::string and pass them as a buffer into a tile object?or I have to convert those pbfs into another format?
I have to find a proper mapnik style for those layers. which I think is not very hard.

Has any one tried these ready to use vector tiles before?

well to people who may has the same problem it is only needed to use compressed files to read data from database.
