Before merging:

[x] port all code and tests
[x] port node-mapnik too, and ensure tests pass - https://github.com/mapnik/node-mapnik/issues/421
[x] get travis passing

I wonder if some of the simplification from Avecado can be unified into m-v-t if you're looking at adding that functionality. We are operating in coordinate space (good) and post-clipping (unsure).
