Seeing this in my first steps learning to build node with vs 2014:

Build skipped. To build, this file needs to run from VS cmd prompt.

Running from the default cmd (because I don't know where the visual studio version is on the ec2 vm). Will report back how I fix this...

found it in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\Common7\Tools\VsDevCmd.bat" but still hitting the same error

patches are now applying (looking into it).

something was up with the line breaks in the patches for my machine/git config - working after https://github.com/BergWerkGIS/mapnik-dependencies/commit/d364fc49143c7a7efcb889288b82a2290d222434
