The properties panel displays the properties of the last thing you selected in a particular document, which may also be a tile, an object, a terrain, and others, so there's way more than just tileset, map, and layer.
A quicker way to access the current document's properties would be very convenient indeed! There has been some talk of placing a button in the bottom right of the properties panel that opens the current document's properties (i.e. tileset or map properties). This way, the panel could continue to display the properties of the last selected thing, but it would be easy to access the current document's properties without needing any menus. Would that be an adequate solution for you?
The button should do
So one of the 2 modes.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
There are 3 properties modes possible for the properties window: layer, map and tileset properties
So if we want to see layer or map properties again, we need to use the menus endlessly. And when clicking in the tileset, the view automatically changes to tileset properties
Describe the solution you'd like
It could be very handy if a button in the properties window is placed to switch between layer/ map/tileset properties. No need to go to the menu. Also in this way the current properties view doesn't change when we click inside the tileset
