Found the culprit. Google Music Manager background app related to Google's online music service somehow blocked the launch. After killing it the Tiled launches without problems. Might be worth to test with other pcs and if it is widespread issue either look a fix for it or record it somewhere.
Hmm, that's very strange. Unfortunately I can't test it since I don't have access to a PC with Windows 8.1. I could try whether it is also a problem on Windows 7 with GMM installed. But in any case I doubt it's a problem I could fix in Tiled.
Most likely. I haven't noticed this in other Qt-based applications though. In any case if someone is as unfortunate as me to encounter the problem, there is at least one possible solution for it now.
Is this problem still there in the latest version of Tiled? I tried to reproduce it by installing Google Music Manager, but I was unable to set it up because GMM refuses to work on virtual machines (because of problems "identifying the machine").
Tiled won't launch on my 8.1 pc if the computer has been on for some time. Reboot enables it to run properly. The program appears to the process list, but no window appears. Any idea of what could block it from running? Some kind of background service?
I tried different compatiblility settings etc. Also tried to compile Tiled from source but got lpython27_d cannot found error.
EDIT: Found the problem. Check next post, edited the title to reflect the problem better.
