grid generator wizard trouble

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.clik on "create a new layer" (Grid generator wizard)
2.open a folder and write a name of the shape in the field.
3.clik on "ok" then "error" : cant create the object

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
output expected is a shapefile. cant go further in procedure cause "next" 
button s still grey of course in generator wizard.

What versions are you using?
Windows:7 64
ArcGIS :9.3.1
Mapbook: Mapbook_for_9.3_2011-Oct-19

The usual suspect in this kind of problem is an unsupported characters in a 
file or field name, even the simple hyphen (-) can be problematic. Since you're 
working on a localized (non-english) system there's also a possibility it has 
to do with an accented character in the filename or path (though that _should_ 
be okay).
