It may be possible to keep using mapbook in arcgis10 using this method. Even if 
this works, it's not necessarily a good idea, especially for new projects. Data 
driven pages have a lot to offer and are officially supported. That cautionary 
note aside, there would be much value in being able to maintain and use legacy 
mapbook projects.

I personally don't have any time to look into this. This note is for those who 
might.
