I just installed this plugin. Thanks for providing it. I was wondering how do I know the Akismet check works? How can I test this? I will add this information to the README for future new users like myself.

You'll see if the Akismet integration is catching HAM (harmless messages) and SPAM messages by looking at the Akismet dashboard.
