On Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit, with a BlackMagic Intensity Shuttly USB 3.0, with the driver downloaded from https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support.
If the drivers are not installed, we get this error message:
libDeckLinkAPI.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Once it's installed, it still doesn't find the device.

When I launch "MediaExpress", I get a message: "BlackMagic hardware could not be found in your system."
When I run our prototype:

Got the exact same issue here on Ubuntu 15.10.
