amenity=parking_space should not be rendered with a parking icon #11165

With the latest version of the app I installed today on my phone, all parking spaces are rendered with an own parking icon which can lead to a lot of clutter in well mapped areas where every parking space of a parking is mapped. Proposed solution: Show only one icon for the whole parking are and not every parking space (i.e. revert the behavior back to the old one...)

Parking shouldn't be an icon at all. Parking lots can be large, larger than a building even. A parking lot is an area, not a point. A fountain, or toilet, or statue, that's more reasonably a single point.

If for whatever reason it must be a single icon: Is there even a consensus on where the parking lot icon should be inside the parking lot? Like, in the middle (and then what about L-shaped ones), or at the entrances, or exits, at the pay booths if any, at the nearest free spot?...

(that last one is a joke, as MAPS.ME is not an online app... At least that's what they advertise)

Hi. I think that drawing the outline around the parking space is the best solution to this problem. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Future releases will fix this.
