ETA way too low for car routing #6935

Hi,

the ETA (estimated time of arrival) is way too low.

Is it already on the to-do?

Best regards Norbert

Found with Maps.me 7.4.5.

As requested by mail I give an example.

Below you find screenshots from different apps of a route that I drive regularely. Please note that I find MAPS.ME calculating too low ETAs also for other routes.

Start coordinates: 47.68293, 9.75864 End coordinates: 48.06378, 8.44256

MAPS.ME capture _2017-08-22-15-54-18

OsmAnd+ capture _2017-08-22-15-52-02

Mapfactor Navigator Free capture _2017-08-22-16-00-26

Google Maps (Note: Takes traffic information into account) capture _2017-08-22-15-57-37

Additional result from BMW built-in navigation system: 1h 46min.

You see that MAPS.ME calculates the shortest ETA of 1h 29min.

According to my experience an ETA of 1h 55min up to 2h 00min is realistic if the traffic situation is good. According to my experience OsmAnd calculates the best ETA with a result of 1h 52min.

I think you target the value of OsmAnd (between 1h 50min. and 1h 55min.).

Hello @Norbert80 !

Thank you for the information about the issue! We know about this issue and are working to fix it.

Thanks and Regards, Alexander

@Alexuser1 thanks! I forgot to mention that Google Maps - although it calculates the best ETA - is not a reference because they incorporate live traffic data.

But I am sure that you are aware of this. πŸ˜€

Maps.me in offline mode could add a small delay for each traffic light in the route and, perhaps, for each left/right/u turn.

Norbert80 commented 7 years ago

As far as I know OsmAnd does it and calls it "penalties".

I wonder how the progress of this issue has faired.
