Thanks, weāll consider it. In the past we would simply put tagās value into a featureās name. But now weāre working on a map editor, and this āapproachā can break things (you can edit and save name which was originally a brand for example).
+1 - On areas where supermarkets are consistently tagged with just brand a search in Maps.Me returns a very large number of generic supermarkets :( e.g. https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/348403542
Hello,
I would suggest that the brand was informed first and then the company name .
I understand that the user can more easily identify the gas station , bank or supermarket with the presentation in this order: brand name
Some shops like gas stations often have a brand tag but no name. Currently these all show as gas station and it's impossible to tell them apart.
I propose that you treat the brand tag like a name tag if there is no name tag present. If there is a name tag, the brand should also be shown like how operator=* is in bank and ATM listings.
Example: Texaco gas station
