This must be a really difficult bug. And adding useless commercial services that aren't offline, was a lot cooler, I reckon. But you don't want a buggy app that shows railroads only when zooming all the way on. That's not useful.
Also, don't forget to render station names. That bug is also still not resolved.
Please respond at your earliest convenience. Or just let us know if yur users need to wait another 2 years before station names and railroads might possibly be rendered correctly.
Railroads are nearly invisible. They are dark grey against a usually light grey background. A railroad line is also as thin as a hair. Look at how Google Maps renders them. They are easy to follow, and they show up when somewhat zoomed out.
They also manage to differentiate between different types of railroads. It seems Google Maps differentiates between private railroads, governement-owned railroads, and bullet train railroads. I'm sure Maps.me/OSM can do that as well.
On a sidenote, please render stations names already!!!
