Offline not working in gmdesk

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. can't install gears via gmdesk
2. tried clicking on link to install gears, nothing happens
3. I already have gears installed for chrome, don't know why this isn't working

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
to have offline gmail/gmdesk work.  Doesn't work. Can't select "enable" offline

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
