It looks good so far, @dgmiller. I've added a few comments to specific sections, and it looks like that's linked here as part of the PR. In general, I would just recommended thinking about getting specific and providing illustrations, be that examples in the text, sketched-out figures, or the specific mathematical details.

I'm assuming you'll want to add more to this branch before I pull it into the master?
