What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. can I update SnakeOS firmware again without restore to original?

2. Will there be ext4 support for SnakeOS?
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

1 if you mean you want to update the snake OS from 1.2 to 1.3 for example, you 
can do that with the file: snake from snake, so you do not need to restore to 
the original firmware, if you are asking if the config needed to be restored, I 
would say yes, you can not avoid that. (It is safer to update the config 
manually rather then trying to use the 1.2 config on 1.3) risk of bricking.
as for ext4 support, I am not sure about that

Need later kernel for ext4.  We are working on it.
