Hey i bought

But speed smba and ftp on  original firmware and  snake os newest  is only 
4.5MB/s  on NTFS FAT32 EXT3    i have this one too

speed on this one was 11MB/s   on ftp via cable and via wirelless 7-10MB/s  the 
 problem was this one is only fat32 so i couldn`t upload more than 4gb files  
only through ftp !!

Now why this new one and better and more expencive only shit 4.5MB/s  this is 
to low for streaming FULL HD 1080P MOVIES TO 3 PC/TV AT THE SAME TIME!!!

anybody have some solution or some advice?    for first or second  nas adapter!!

please help!!!!

Higher price doesn't always translate into better performance on these things.

I'm getting 4.5MB/s with the builtin samba as well. 

Can you try again with this samba package?

I'm getting up to 7MB/s with it. Maybe that's enough for what you want to do.

Ok i will try that, wich snake, os. To upload!? The last one? Is any
difference in speed, if the disk, is, ntfs or ext3,  fat32 iz not An
option, because i cant download torrent directly from my pc utorrent to 1tb
disk on nas! And what about, ftp speed? On that shit pluscom 1xusb speed is
11.1MB/s on this new one wlx652 only 4.5MB/s!!

7MB/s on samba or ftp will do the trick it is, enough for streaming
3xfullhd 1080p movies!!!

I'd go with snakeos-V1.3.2-20111019 and ext3. NTFS can get pretty slow.

It looks like the ftp service uses the same way to send files as samba. Will 
have to look into what's making it slower.

I'm actually getting ~7.5MB/s down already. Upload is about 4.5MB/s.

i`m limited to wirelles ~8MB/up/down,  

It`s long time ago that i used linux so tell  me ext3  can copy more than 4GB 
files? or is like fat32 no and than this samba srvr makes 2 files?

I`m on job now but i`ll try snakeos-V1.3.2-20111019 and ext3 and samba3 addon!
We will see how it works=)

dude how can i send u pictures i uploaded snakeos-V1.3.2-20111019   but   there 
is no transmision option   when i try to set samba3  it says Builtin samba is 
running! Samba3 will not be started.  even if samba is off??

and evry reboot i make  settings are lost share and users' and  opkg service 
reset go to off??

i upload firmware again this time snake-snake

swap is now working but other things like  settins reset evry time i reboot

why the setings dont stay    when i reboot device or unplug power supply  and 
plug back the setings are reset no user  opk off samba on  the only think that 
stays on is static ip

and than experimental kernel 
snakeos-V1.3.2_2.6.36-20120208 (1).bin

hehe now the system and power light is up    the network  leds just blink once 
and than nothing =(((

try pushing reset button nothing happened

I need to finally take that image down. It's breaking things a bit too often..
If you still care you can recover via serial cable. See here

To make setting changes permanent you have to click System->Config->"Save 
config"

Large files work ok via samba. Ftp downloads fail though.

hmm how to make serial cable can i just took old cable for  some primter and 
cut the other side and connect to nas???

No. that won't work and can even fry the device.

A data cable for some old nokia phones works best.

i found nokia CA-101d at home   but i think it must work with anytype of usb  i 
just need to connect it right?

No, It must be an usb to serial converter. 

According to this the CA-101 is a plain usb cable.

These things are usually cheaper on ebay than on dx.

I'm so not making any guarantees. 

The one that I use is a CA-50 clone with a PL2303 inside that I got off ebay.
Like one of these:

Remember that you also have to attach it to the board somehow.

Ok, let's try to get the serial connection to work first.

Try attaching the wires like in the attached image. 

launch putty
under Session select Serial and set Speed to 38400
click Open
if you power up now you should get some output in the putty window

oh whoops .. didn't see your last post.

It can't connect to the tftp server yet. Is the ip address of the pc actually 
set to 192.168.0.100? if not you have to change the address that you give "set 
serverip".

yea im writing like maniac here=)

i have conenction i set my  pc   ip of ethernet card to 196.168.0.100  and 
subnet mask 255.255.255.0 all other  i left empty gateway and dns!  i unplug 
even my wireless adapter so i have no internet and only ethernet connected to 
wlx652!
i still get  loading   and nothing happens!

I'm using the standalone version of tftpd32. It even works through wireless 
here but I wiuldn't bet on that.

The root folder would be the one specified at "Current Directory". Just drop 
recovery.8132 into it. If it can't find the file it says something like this:

Hmm, looks like it should work. 

Maybe some firewall is getting in the way? 

There's a way to send files via the serial connection but I never tried that on 
windows.. it's also horribly slow.

eh i loose my mind  fuck it i tried this on 2 pc with 192.168.0.100 and your  
192.168.2.109 and my own 192.100.1.1

the tftpd32 can only be set to this ip when the wlx652 is powered becouse when 
its not powered the ethernet card is donw so i cant choose 192.168.0.100 or 
this  192.168.2.109 

all is worki9ng  but upload wont it didnt say cant find file it didnt say link 
down it says link up  ethernet led is blinking   but count 

so my procedure is turn putty connect power wlx652  than  turn tfpt32 and its 
auto set to 192.168.2.109  the ethernet card ip!!

i really do not know whats wrong  it say connected  it didnt say cant fidn file 
so i think all work but when try to connect or upload this recovery its just 
blinking leds on ethernet and says Loading: T     

fuck TT

is 192.168.2.110  
tftp is on  server 192.168.2.109  the recovery file in c:tftp folder 
firewall windows and avast off  tried this on 2 pc!!

the only think i notced is the cable is some china shit fake ca-50  but if the 
conenction work putty works  but when trying to send with tftpboot 0x1000000 
recovery.8132   i get

something is wrong and only GOD knows what=)

Don't know if putting a router in between or going wireless would help.. it's 
worth a try I guess. Just make sure that everythings on the same subnet.

If putty is working the wires are in the correct order.

Serial transfer would go over the ca-50 cable. But I need to see if it's 
working first. It's been sending for an hour already.. did I mention that it's 
slow? :P

something is wrong  am  if i change the name of the file it wont say file not 
detected or somthing like that it still say T T T timed out=)
