I delted webnowplaying from the files because it wasent working with rainmeter anymore so i thought taht may help but when i uninstalled it from the list and re-installed it says it cant find webnowplayng.js and this thingy is soo annoying so if anyone could help that would be great (dont mind my absolute garbage spelling)

Having the same issue here. Even tried installing older versions of spicetify, which did not work. Changing config file doesn't work either (unless im really dumb and didn't change the correct things). Tried moving webnowplaying.js to .spicetify/extensions also moved webnowplaying.dll there but no improvement. Any help is needed.

Also i'd like to add that themes with spicetify work fine.

am having the same issues

have tried the usual "spicetify backup apply" fix in powershell but that no longer works.

song and artist data shows as n/a.

have tried downgrading spoitify to previously working version also

I'm having this issue as well. Spicetify and Spotify has been reinstalled multiple times without any solution, and other components of Spicetify are working fine. Glad that I'm not alone at least.

Does anyone know of a way to independently test webnowplaying.js and see if it's actually fetching anything? I can't tell if the problem lies in the visualiser or the plugin (although I'm suspecting the former).

Yeah I had the same issue and it's now fixed. WebNowPlaying.js was broken in spicetify v2.8.4 as per issue https://github.com/khanhas/spicetify-cli/issues/1415. In the latest version v2.8.5, that has been fixed. Upgrade the version using spicetify upgrade in the cli. Make sure WebNowPlaying.js is added in the config file-instructions here.

Next, replace old WebNowPlaying.dll plugin in the *Rainmeter Plugins folder with the latest version. Exit Rainmeter before doing this. (download the WebNowPlaying-x32.dll or WebNowPlaying-x64.dll file from here ). Then rename WebNowPlaying-x32 or WebNowPlaying-x64 to WebNowPlaying. Restart Rainmeter and it should work now.

*The Rainmeter folder for Windows is in the appdata -> roaming folder. Type %appdata% in Search or Run to open it.

Alternatively, you can download and install the sample WebNowPlaying rmskin (v0.5.0 latest as of now) from the WebNowPlaying repo and it will automatically install the latest plugin in the correct folder.

Thanks for the fix, works like a charm! Will probably use the rmskin from now on to avoid in the future.

Welcome! Yep it's better to keep the latest version of the sample WebNowPlaying rmskin to get the updated plugin. Monstercat uses 0.4.0 and it hasn't been updated.

Actully the problem remains for me with 2.8.5 and updated plugin, any ideas?

Actually solved by reinstalling both spotify and spicetify
