User cannot click to select the word (created by wordselect) #41

Describe the bug For the activity "Word Select", the users cannot click to choose the word(s).

Expected behavior One or a few students are facing this problem, and I don't know how to solve it. They cannot click on the word to select the choices.

Additional context For me, I have tried "Chrome, Firefox, MS Edge" and never found such issue.

I have viewed that clip and I don't understand what the 'dropdowns' are that I am seeing. Is it glossary popups? Can you view the javascript console for that user (you may find a description here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/devtools-guide-chromium/open/?tabs=cmd-Windows ). The version of the browser may be significant, though the big jump is between edge and earlier versions. This plugin is used by the UK open university who have a large number of students and I have not heard of this issue previously. What version of the WordSelect plugin are you using?

WordSelect plugin I'm using version 2.47 (2021090700) on Moodle 3.8. Right now, I asked the user to try using Google Chrome, and it works. (Not EDGE)

I have tested on Edge, and it is used on over 1,300 sites https://moodle.org/plugins/qtype_wordselect/stats So it is likely that other people are using it with edge. Having the glossary filter enabled (the popups showing definitions), might be a cause of a problem as it does put arbitrary code into the text, and can sometimes give students the answers to questions when you don't want them there. https://docs.moodle.org/311/en/Glossary_auto-linking_filter
