Looks like magento submits only base images to google base

We need to make a patch so that it submits the first preview it can find if 
there is no base image.

This is a nasty one as it hits our customers on the pocket.

We don't know if G will accept images from a subdomain. It should. If not, 
we'll need to download them, make base and then leave the code run its course.

What happened with this one? Did we do something to make google merchant take 
preview images from w2p extension products?

I need to be clear what to add as a feature. Is the following true:
"Web-to-print products can have their default preview images automatically used 
as product images in Google merchant"
