Gemfile uses gemspec for dependencies. See: http://asciicasts.com/episodes/245-new-gem-with-bundler
Including gemspec in repository allows bundler to install via github. See: http://gembundler.com/git.html

Any thoughts on merging this in or not? Would be happy to discuss the implications for the development workflow if it's not clear.
