Problem/Feature request (Be as specific as possible. Steps to reproduce are
especially helpful):

When trying to write to offline contact, pidgin saves the message in buddy 
pounces while should send it right away.

I see this as a popup; "So and so is offline" and I can choose pounce or 
immediate.

We should probably try and suppress that, though.
