Character counter doesn't show up

LibPurple Version: 2.10.6
PrplTwtr Version: 0.12.0
Operating System: Win7 64bit SP1

Problem/Feature request (Be as specific as possible. Steps to reproduce are
especially helpful): Doing a standard install, most of the features work fine, 
but the character counter doesn't show up on the IM window.  Makes it hard to 
size messages.  I've searched all the options in vain, but can't find any way 
to get it display.  The wiki makes it seem like it's just there by default?

It should be added to the "formatting toolbar" (under Options->Show Formatting 
Toolbar). I believe the Pidgin default is to have this enabled.

I know that formatting is meaningless in the context of a tweet, but I have no 
idea how to display it without this toolbar.

I could have sworn I tried that.  Of course, now I just look like a n00b, cause

I can also confirm that the colour switching (orange, then red) works for me, 
so I can't reproduce Issue #69's report of colour switching not happening.  
Makes me feel less like an idiot to contribute back some small thing. :)
