Tweets not coming in - Githubissues

Problem/Feature request (Be as specific as possible. Steps to reproduce are
especially helpful):
I decided to look for other Twitter clients for my desktop and found MetroTwit. 
Installed it, logged-in and authenticated but decided it wasn't for me so I 
uninstalled it. (Tweets came in fine in MetroTwit) That's when I noticed the 
tweets were no longer updating on my chat window on Pidgin. Tried to close and 
re-open chat window to load new tweets but never happened. I always got the 
standard Pidgin disconnection notice on my chat logs after closing the window:

"The account has disconnected and you are no longer in this chat. You will be 
automatically rejoined in the chat when the account reconnects."

Also, online buddies appear on Pidgin twitter group but show "0 people in room" 
inside the chat window for the twitter feed.

To resolve this, I (unsystematically) did the following:
1. Revoked MetroTwit authorization on Twitter.
2. Deleted twitter account on Pidgin and re-added. (nothing happened) 
3. Restarted Pidgin. (nothing happened)
4. Restarted PC and Pidgin. (still nothing)
5. Downloaded and installed prpltwtr-0.12.0 (still nothing)
6. Revoked prpltwtr2 authorization. Opened Pidgin. (nothing)
7. Logged out of twitter (web) and re-logged in. authorized prpltwtr2. 

now works fine! so, i really can't say which one did it because i just did 
everything unsystematically.
