./configure doesn't see pidgin on Debian Wheezy

Problem/Feature request (Be as specific as possible. Steps to reproduce are
especially helpful):
configure: error: Package requirements (pidgin >= 2.6 pidgin < 3.0) were not met
Actually it is installed from official debian repos. You can see full log in 
the attachment.

You need to have pidgin-dev installed as well.

But in any case, prpltwtr is not currently working...
