Exclude the media keys (volume up/down, mute, next/previous start/pause) from exiting the screensaver #106

I would like to suggest a new feature: to be able exclude the media keys (volume up/down, mute, next/previous start/pause) from exiting the screensaver. it would be nice to be able to adjust the volume of the music I am listening to and continue watching the slideshow. I tried the escape key only setting, but it disabled the media keys on the keyboard.

Just checked the inbuilt windows screen saver, they all exit when pressing a media button. But it would be a great feature if you could manage to implement it. Thanks in advance!

If you include a shortcut key to 'Switch The Sound ON/OFF', could you add a reminder discretely somewhere on the edge of the screen, so we don't forget what the shortcut is? Thanks Marijn.

A full list of available shortcuts can be found on the Configuration screen on the Shortcuts tab. Or you can add a note to the Metadata area yourself.

Dear Marijn, Sound On during videos: In the video Sound enhancement, all the user needs is a simple, short reminder of the shortcut, only when a video is displayed. I don’t want to search through the Help Notes (there seems to be no index!) to try and find Audio Settings – I looked just now, and I cannot find any mention of “audio” or ”sound” anywhere. The Sound icon is there on the video, but we can’t use it! If you make a shortcut, how about a simple prompt at the top of the screen? Ü

Of course, it would be better if the user could click the Sound icon for left or right monitor, to switch sound on only for that video. Can you make RPS ignore the click if it is done over the Sound icon, so that it doesn’t jump to the next slide?
// What is a “note in the Metadata area”? What does Metadata mean? Your Settings section does not say what it means, nor give examples of how to use it. Is it something that programmers use? I use two monitors, with different videos on each monitor. If I deselect Mute Videos, then does it play the audio for both videos at once? How would we select audio for the left or right monitor? Keep thinking! God bless you. Philip Tory
