Various fixes from Triton's branch

We have made a series of small fixes to our branch, pushing a PR to get these upstream.

These involve:

• More metrics
• Better cert handling
• Ability to run without auth
• Automatic reconnects
• Dynamic updating of servers on client (with kill -HUP)
• Enforcing skipPreflight: true
