@AidanCox12 New repo cloned/mirrored from cams-nb. Changed only the most basic info in _config.yml and note the baseurl: cams-nb did NOT change! Yet it still works. Strange but its working so no need to mess with it further.
Now its ready to customize so make a local copy of the remote repo (probably via git clone), edit the .md files, add your own photos, etc. I recommend committing at all major changes to the repo so you have a set of steps you went through in case something doesnt work right you can always roll back to a commit before the problem occurred. It's also nice to have a record of what you did to get the site up and running.
Regardless, you have a new research notebook site hosted on github!
