automatch taxonomy (WoRMS id) with species silhouette #41

Ideally, a WoRMS id code could automatically be associated with silhouette descriptions. Many available here:

I was wondering how many infographics your team has created to date. It would be useful to have the infographics linked to taxonomic classifications in an ontology. I think this type of resource could be used to automate some of the portrayal.

PhyloPic looks like a fantastic resource for this project. Note that although it only has png files, it might be very easy to automatically convert these to svg primatives using imagemagik and potrace ref

Whoah, potrace looks fantastic! PhyloPic does have a bunch of SVG, but many only PNG. The potrace binary (easily installed on Mac with brew install potrace or Linux with sudo apt-get install potrace) opens up any Advanced Google Image Search result, eg giant squid, black & white, clipart.
