Gnome-mplayer does not loop indefinitely #152

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. launch gmplayer and create or load a playlist.
2. check Edit->Loop Playlist
3. click play and let it run indefinitely.
4. come back and check to see if it's still running after 24 hrs.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: It should still be running, still playing music.
Actual: It is no longer playing, as if someone clicked stop, but clicking play
will not resume the playback.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Gnome Mplayer 0.9.9.2 on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

Please provide any additional information below.
I'm using this to loop a playlist over an audio stream during idle periods. I
need it to literally be able to loop ad infinitum. Since this is running on a
machine that only I have access to, and that machine has no other difficulties,
I don't understand why the looping eventually stops. What's more, it doesn't
allow me to restart the loop without closing gmplayer and reloading it.

You might want to try upgrading from code that is not 18months old. I believe
this bug has been fixed.

The looping failure can also be caused by mplayer crashing on a media file, so
you may want to ensure you have a current mplayer as well.
