I think the media on the site is bad. On the link I get

Maybe your right, I just saw the assertion and that should not happen anyway. 
Is it possible to get gecko-mediaplayer in Chrome?

Chrome uses a different API than firefox for plugins. And originally Chrome had 
a lot of problems with Firefox plugins due to the way they did their event 
handler.

Added some null pointer checks to the code and the warnings are not emitted 
now. SVN r2440 (gnome-mplayer)
