Error playing avi files #518

Opening a avi file with vdpau or xvmc fails

I attach the outputs
version is 1.0.4beta svn 2077 in ubuntu natty
in 1.0.3 works fine

Can you post the logs from 1.0.3 as well. I don't have vdpau or xvmc compatible 
hardware to test with.

Also you could try the same tests with ASS subtitles disabled?

I think I know what the problem is for the vdpau case is... see this website..

I think I can make it retry without the divx codec

continue the message, I hit Save changes by error

In 1.0.4 I also get this error:

vdpau works in SVN r2084, but xvmc still failing

From your logs it looks like xvmc is also failing in 1.0.3, is that correct? 
Can you post new logs for SVN?

Try SVN r2085 for the xvmc issue, the vdpau issue is fixed in r2083.
