Error message when opening mkv file #542

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
There is a mkv file I cannot watch with gnome-mplayer. I get this error message:

MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: decode_audio

I don't have problems with other matroska files. I can open the same video with
mplayer, the error is only with gnome-mplayer.

I attach both logs, mplayer and gnome-mplayer.

mplayer2 2.0-git20110712
gnome-mplayer 1.0.4-svn2156

Does it work with standard mplayer?

I installed mplayer 1.0-rc4 and I cannot watch the video. Mplayer gives an
error, and gnome-mplayer doesn't give an error, but the video is stopped and
cannot play it.

If you'll read the logs you'll see that mplayer is incompatible with the file
you are playing. Also rc4 is rather old, you should try a newer version.

Also, in gnome-mplayer you might try setting the vo to x11 or xv and disabling
hardware ac3 support.

Also, if you post a log, please don't cut it, as you remove critical
information.

I cut the log because it was the same error over and over. You didn't miss any
critical information. In the settings I have xv and ac3 disable. The file may
be incompatible with mplayer, but it is compatible with mplayer2, which is what
I use. Still, it works with mplayer2 and not with gnome-mplayer.

Perhaps I need a sample of the file that shows the error to debug it. Is there
a place I can get the file?

The file is 2.3GB. I split it in small parts to send you a sample. The funny
thing is that while the first part shows the error, I can play the others
without problems.

I tested with mplayer 1.0-svn33883 and I can watch the video without errors. I
only get the error in gnome-mplayer with mplayer2. Mplayer2 by itself work okay
too.

I'll test with this sample with the code I am working on.

This sample seems to work fine with mplayer2 from August 11 and the current
gnome-mplayer SVN code. So it appears the problem has been fixed.
