XVID videos thru VDPAU cause a segfault #609

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. on a system with nvidia h/w accelerated video configured, set 
gnome-mplayer's -vo to vdpau
2. load a .avi file with an MPEG-4 XVID video stream 
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Playback of the selected video file. Instead, gnome-mplayer quits with a 
segfault. Reproduced with many different xvid files.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
gnome-mpayer 1.0.5, MPlayer SVN-r34129-4.6.2, Fedora 16 with rpmfusion repos.

Please provide any additional information below.
switching -vo to xv quasi-fixes the problem, but you lose h/w acceleration, 
which is not something the user wants.
mplayer seems to be able to handle this type of videos, using vdpau as vo.
I attach a sample file which causes segfault to gnome-mpayer. 
Below are gnome-mplayer and mplayer -vo vdpau outputs.

I believe this particular segfault has been fixed in gmtk 1.0.6. You can 
workaround it for now by unchecking "Enable Video Hardware Support" in 
Edit->Preferences. It seems this option does not matter as your video driver 
does not appear to support it, at least for this particular file.
