[bug] doesn't remember subtitles preference #691

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. start a video with subtitles
2. default setting is to show subtitles (I see over the video the "subtitles
visible" string)
3. but for this time I don't want it, so I disable it by press 'v' key (I see
over the video the "subtitles hidden" string)
4. if I pause and then play the video, gnome-mplayer doesn't remember my choice
to don't see subtitles and restore the "system-wide" preference of showing
subtitles.....

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

gnome-mplayer couldn't restore subtitle settings when i press Pause/Play

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

archlinux x86_64
mplayer2-20130428
gnome-mplayer-1.0.8

Are you pausing the video or actually stopping the application and opening it
again? If you pause it the subtitles should remain hidden and do for me. If you
are stopping and reopening, the player is using the value of the Subtitle
preference "Shgow Subtitles by Default"

So I need to know more about what you are encountering. Also, please try with
mplayer instead of mplayer2.

I have the same problem on Ubuntu 13.04. I press space twice (pause and resume)
and the subtitles are displayed again.
