I found your article via theweeklydrop. I recently switched my own storybook component based build system from Webpack to ViteJS. A few different approaches -- I opted for a build on each component rather than a singlular/global build -- but basically landed close to what you've put together. I also made myself a component generator with Yo to speed up development.

I'm rolling a few bits that you described into a client project I'm just starting, and will update my starterkit later.
