Philips Hue app crashing on setup #415

Hey, after taking multiple attempts to make the bridge, i finally did it. But there is another problem. I'm trying to add 2 simple philips hue warm white bulbs. But when i add them, it crashes the app instantly and never works. Reinstalling app didn't fix this problem either. I read other comments to delete config file and replace with a new one. I did it. But after i set up my lights, it started to crash again. At this point i have no idea what to do. Also here's my config.json file

Can you tell me more exactly what type of light are you using? The sketch folder if is ESP8266.

Hey, i'm trying to connect 2 Philips Hue White single bulb e27 warm white lights. In the config file, where's light section, there are 2 6-digit codes for the lights

I assume you have paired the bulbs with your real bridge successfully and have then followed the instructions here to add them to your diyHue bridge? If so do the lights appear in the list when you browse to http://{bridgeIP}/

I bought those lighs used. They might have been used before with real bridge. But i don't have one. Is there a way to reset lights?

Ah so your trying to connect to Hue bulbs using a ZigBee module such as the Raspbee module? Is that supported @mariusmotea ?

Philips Hue lights don't use wifi protocol, but ZigBee. In order to communicate with these bulbs a 3rd party device with this future is needed. You can use one real hue bridge or the Raspbee module if you use RaspberryPI. To reset the lights in general performing power cycle 5-6 times is enough.

Ah so you can use Deconz and the Raspbee module to control Genuine Hue bulbs. This needs adding to this wiki page then @mariusmotea. Can you follow the instructions in there to add the lights, as it only mentions sensors and remotes?

Is there another way around? Since both bridge and raspbee module are expensive. And if there's not, which would you suggest getting me? The bridge or raspbee?

No way around this. As @mariusmotea said. Hue bulbs use the ZigBee protocol and you need a device that can talk this protocol. Get the Raspbee module as this would allow you to use many ZigBee devices such as sensors, switches and Ikea Tradfri bulbs.
