5 years ago - All websites must conform to the Data Protection Act & GDPR. This means that all sites must state how, what and why personal data is handled and processed. Personal data includes any information that distinguishes one person from another - either directly or indirectly.

It should cover:
- Your name, location, and contact information (website/app owner details)

- What information you're collecting from them (including names, email addresses, IP addresses, and any other information)
- The site's use of cookies and other trackers
- How the collected personal information is collected and used
- How you're keeping their information safe
- Who receives the collected information
- Information about third-party sites that might collect information (such as advertisers)
The privacy information must be up-to-date, understandable, unambiguous, and easily accessible throughout the website or app. Visit the 4th link when you want to add Google Adsense or Amazon affiliates.
Terms and Conditions of Use
This explains the actions that are allowed and disallowed while using the website.
It should cover:
- Description of the service that your site/app provides
- Information on risk allocation, liability and disclaimers
- How to credit content and images from the site
- Conditions of use
- Any additional applicable terms
Disclaimers
Are like simplified versions of a terms and conditions. They are used on sites where there is a lot of user-submitted content that isn't moderated by the site owners or where there are a lot of links to external pages. A disclaimer basically is saying the site owner isn't responsible for the content or links.
It should cover:
- ownership and copyright of the website's content
- acceptable and unacceptable use of the website and content
- availability of the website
- links to other websites
- liability disclaimers and limitation
