Sorry for taking so long to respond. I used to get all issues in my inbox, but
that seems to have stopped.
Did you install the winff package from my PPA, or did you update the presets
from the web-site? Seems like the ffmpeg package in Ubuntu 10.04 is too old for
our latest presets.

Thanks for following up on this.
winnff is from your PPA, I don't think I had previously installed the
presets from the website (for libavcodec52) so I did that now, but I
still get the same error message.
The preset will work if I don't add any other parameters, but in this
case when I try to set the video size it causes the error.

I will update my PPA with the old behavior of WinFF. This will need some time
to work it out properly to have it supportable in the future.

I uploaded a new Winff package for lucid to my testing area, which hopefully
fixes this issue.
Would you be so kind to test it from there?

I am probably only going to support this on lucid, as maverick is already past
Ubuntu support.

Thanks for looking into this
I tried the test area version on a clean install of lucid and it works as
expected.
Discontinuing support for older versions is understandable, I will probable
move to Precise by the end of the year.
Many thanks
Mark

Closing as fixes as per comment 5.
The updated package is also in the main lucid repository.
