GWTCanvas works in Chome and Firefox but not in IE (blank white canvas) #351

What version of gwt and gwt-incubator are you using?

 GWT 2.0.1
 gwt-incubator-20100204-r1747.jar

What OS and browser are you using?

 Windows XP, Vista using IE

I downloaded the jar and added it to my application. I can get GWTCanvas
to draw squares and it shows up in Chrome and Firefox. On IE, however, it
is blank. I checked the comments on the GWTCanvas instruction page and it
seems like another user has the same problem. He got the demo to work in
Firefox and Chrome, but it was completely blank (white) in IE. Please
help. Thx.

We're having the same issue, the GWTCanvas works fine in any browser except in
IE8.
Quick fix would be running IE8 in compatibility mode, unfortunately other parts
of
the application break when we try that.

I really need to get it to work in standards mode. It works in quirks mode by
removing
'<!doctype html>' but the layout messes up in my application when I do that.

Same problem, also combined with:

http://code.google.com/p/google-web-toolkit/issues/detail?id=4521

as trying to use a div with background via css to avoid whole canvas repainting.

IE8 is again IE, no matter what they say.

This is fixed. See my comment for issue 348. The Issue should have its status
changed.
