How many requests are allowed? #29

First of all, thank you for the data API. It's hard to find a proper, modern API for stock data.

I just tried a little loop that fetches data for 10 companies every 10 seconds. Most requests error out in a 501 Not Implemented but at one point or another, they return the expected results. So I'm wondering how many requests are allowed per timeframe?

I am also experiencing this problem with company lookup bound to a typeahead component. Most of the time it returns the data, but sometimes I get a 501 error.

Same here. However, my app does not use a loop but just a simple form submission. About 40% of the time, the API will return the proper results, but most of the time, I will get a 501 error. Still have not found a fix for it.

Is there any update on this? What have people found is the approximate rate limit?

@konnorbeard I don't think this project is maintained anymore.

I believe its around 10 requests in 60 seconds.

For everyone having trouble with this API, use https://www.quandl.com/ instead.. It's a much more reliable and compatible API. MarkitOnDemand is complete garbage and they don't respond to emails.

@sok213 sorry you feel our free offering is garbage. we're in a bit of a transition period right now for our APIs. this particular set of APIs was built was some older tech and we've been working on a new API architecture. the new architecture helps power our new Chartworks offering
