I saw on http://www.huananzhi.com/html/1//184/185/491.html?view=drivers#anchor a Bios for the F8D Board named: X99-F8DV2.3 出货BIOS 21-9-15 华南 Does it mean it is dated on 15.09.2021 ? Maybe it has some advantages? By the way: is TPM impossible for the F8D? Thanks for your work (EFI)! I installed monterey beta 9 now.

Yes, I believe there is a new bios. I was waiting for you since I don't know how to do the Turbo Boost unlock within the bios. There is also a new file listed here: https://github.com/Koshak1013/HuananzhiX99_BIOS_mods. His comments are as follows: "menu items: "Memory Timings & Voltage Override", "SOCKET RAPL Config", "Per-Socket Configuration", "PCI Subsystem Settings" and "OverClocking Feature" are open updated microcodes and Realtek Boot Agent GE, added Realtek UNDI Driver, cleaned up SATA RAID drivers open access to read / write BIOS regions, so that you can subsequently flash it without a programmer BCLK 100.00MHz (0.00% SSC)".

markkpa commented 3 years ago

Updated microcodes would be useful for Linux. Also, this motherboard only supports earlier 1.2 version of TPM - not the 2.0 version required by Windows 11. I tried to install a 1.2 TPM module; I used an "MSI" module - it failed.

markkpa commented 3 years ago

The bios you found on Huananzhi's website might even be a later version than Koshak1013.

andvalb commented 2 years ago

What MSI TPM module model you are exactly used? Is it works but does not support the 2.0 standard or just does not work at all?

markkpa commented 2 years ago

I listed the TPM module I tried below; but it didn't work at all. I believe it was my error - I purchased the wrong module. Perhaps the TPM 1.2 module would have worked but it still not compatible with Windows 11.

Hey dreader27 - sorry, I had you mixed up with someone else. It was svobodin that prepared the last bios I posted. I believe he used the tools posted below (click "English Version"). Does anybody know how to use S3TurboTool?https://github.com/Koshak1013/HuananzhiX99_BIOS_mods#Instructions-for-unlocking-the-maximum-frequency-for-all-cores-not-two-unlock

Checked jtpm connector pinout on the f8d mobo with the oscilloscope and found that they miss-route this connector IMHO. Some adapter will be needed. image

markkpa commented 2 years ago

Thanks for your insight. Let me know if you ever find a solution. Thanks again.

markkpa commented 2 years ago

I was to update and post the latest bios which also includes turbo boost unlock. DONE!

lucasfcnunes commented 2 years ago

@markkpa, about the TPM compatibility. Did you get it to work with windows 11 (on HUANANZHI X99-F8D)?

SlimRG commented 6 months ago

I have the same question about tpm

TPM 2.0 is a forced requirement novadays. Do you still have oscilloscope and the the mobo? The diagram you draw is similar to msi 14 pin lpc. There is a diagram for it. https://tr.aliexpress.com/item/1005004048395590.html
