IE8 desktop - need loading indicator as loading is considerably slower for content... #46

The app comes up ok... but the data takes several seconds to load - not sure why. Either improve loading performance (preferable but hard?) or add loading indicator. This is IE8 on Windows XP. I tried IE9 compatibilty mode and sent you email about js errors (which I suspect are your extra commas).

Wow, I'm really not sure what's taking so long for the data to load. I'm sure it's not the server. I tried commenting out a number of other things (eg: the Twitter feed) to see if I could simplify it down to a fast case but had no success. So I threw in a loading overlay for the time being.
